“Ha Makom” The Place, Jerusalem (Highlights from Torah portion RE’EH רְאֵה (part 2 of 2))

In Part 2 of this Study we look at the role of Jerusalem as the seat of authority for the 1st Century disciples of Yehoshua the Messiah. Also Yehoshua’s prophecy of the destruction of Jerusalem that came in 70 C.E.  and then finally 132-135 C.E.  As it is written in Luke 21

20. “However, when you see Yerushalayim surrounded by armies, then you are to understand that she is about to be destroyed.
21. Those in Y’hudah must escape to the hills, those inside the city must get out, and those in the country must not enter it.
22. For these are the days of vengeance, when everything that has been written in the Tanakh will come true.
23. What a terrible time it will be for pregnant women and nursing mothers! For there will be great distress in the Land and judgment on the people. 24. Some will fall by the edge of the sword, others will be carried into all the countries of the Goyim (nations or gentiles), (This marked the beginning of the roman exile that has continued till this day, but is now coming to an end)

…..”and Yerushalayim will be trampled down by the Goyim until the age (times) of the Goyim has run its course.” CJB

We can see clearly that Yehoshua spoke of a destruction of “the place” Jerusalem and this has come to pass, as we see in History. Also it must be noted that this same prophecy is spoken through Moshe, Jeremiah and others. This promise of the destruction of Jerusalem was part of the curse for not taking heed and being obedient to the Torah of YHVH.

We would like the highlight  the word “Until”:

….”and Jerusalem will be trampled on by the nations, until the appointed times of the nations, are fulfilled.” NWT

37 Behold, I will gather them from all the countries to which I drove them in my anger and my wrath and in great indignation. I will bring them back to this place, and I will make them dwell in safety. 38 And they shall be my people, and I will be their ELOHIM. 39 I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, for their own good and the good of their children after them. 40 I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me. 41 I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.42 “For thus says YHVH: Just as I have brought all this great disaster upon this people, so I will bring upon them all the good that I promise them. 43 Fields shall be bought in this land of which you are saying, ‘It is a desolation, without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.’ 44 Fields shall be bought for money, and deeds shall be signed and sealed and witnessed, in the land of Benjamin, in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, in the cities of the hill country, in the cities of the Shephelah, and in the cities of the Negeb; for I will restore their fortunes, declares YHVH.” Jeremiah 32 ( Also read 33)

We “see” and believe we are in the beginning of the end of the “gentile times” and the beginning of the “age” or “times” of the restitution of all things.

“Heaven must hold this one (Yehoshua) within itself until the times of restoration of all things of which ELOHIM spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets of old” Acts 3:21 NWT

Heaven must receive him until the time comes for ELOHIM to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.” NIV

It is in this time of the presence of Yehoshua the Messiah  that we are looking forward to the fulfillment of all the Holy Promises.

The divine name YHVH( יְהֹוָה ) is the most special name in all creation. The Messiah teaches us to pray for the sanctification of our heavenly Fathers name (Matt.6:9), and this is our prayer.  With people seeking to understand the name ( יְהֹוָה) and looking into how to pronounce the name  it can become very confusing. There are so many opinions and theories, which claim to be right, yet they all disagree…
This study is on the Divine Name YHVH or YHWH  (יְהֹוָה) and is part of a personal journey of the past 5 months. We look at  the origins and sources of the popular YAHWEH, and why  most scholars agree that it is the most accurate. ( A view we to have held for over 20 years, until recently). We hold that the scriptures are the source for truth, and that the understanding for the meaning and the correct pronunciation of YHVH ( יְהֹוָה) can be found in the Hebrew texts themselves!  We look at the ancient Aleppo Codex, the Leningrad Codex, the Hebrew Matthew,  Bible scholar Nehemia Gordon’s book “Shattering the Conspiracy of Silence”, ancient and modern Jewish sources and so much more. We invite you to join us on this journey and see HASHEM (the name) revealed in the scriptures!

PLEASE NOTE:This is a three part study and it is important to listen to all of it in order to get the full understanding. Many sources are listed in this study and it is a good idea to write them down and look them up yourself. Please feel free to ask questions.

Yeho-shua (יְהוֹשֻׁעַ) means: Yehovah Saves!
Remember The words of Yehoshua found in the Hebrew book of  Matthew 5:18
“18. “Truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away , not one letter or one “niqqud” [‘vowel point’] shall be abolished from the Torah, because all will stand.”
(Above) We see a rare  Adonay Yehovah written together with full vowels. Ezekiel 28:22 (Aleppo Codex) This is amazing to see and it clearly shows us  how the vowels for these words are not the same. Halleluyah!
The Almighty’s Sacred Name should be known and we are promised it will. To all people seeking to proclaim it and understand the Divine Name, and YHVH’s Purpose . It is my prayer and hope that our Heavenly Father’s Name should not be a place of argument, nor a place to prove who has it right, but we should seek the truth…, Our heavenly Father’s Name is not a place of self pride or ego, but one of love, true love, unselfishness expressed for ELOHIM is LOVE!
Let us remember the instruction concerning HIS name. Shemot (Exodus) 20:7
7.You shall not take the name of  YHVH, your ELOHIM, in vain, for YHVH will not hold blameless anyone who takes His name in vain.
